Introducing Alice Jo Margaret P. Little sister to Elana Grace aged 4. Our little Apple was born on March 20 at 3:37am after a very interesting labour at 39 weeks 4 days. She was 3.65kg (8lbs) 51cm and had a head circumference of 33.5cm. After a false labour at 38 weeks 4 days where we discovered an irritable uterus and she was half posterior she turned in the following week. Elana got a vomiting bug on the Monday night and wasn't feeling the best Tuesday but she picked...
Well we told Elana last week about the baby. We were waiting until after the 19 week Morphology scan so we could tell her it will be a brother/sister and then we had our scan the same day we got the keys to the new house and suddenly the upheaval of moving became priority to telling her about the baby. Almost 4 year olds who DON'T like change can only handle so much. She did fine over the move. She went to Grans house for the first time but she didn't sleep. Apparently she was fine unt...

Today Elana and Mummy did some baking. She cracked the egg, added the milk and butter, mixed it all up, spooned the mixture into the tray - man I wish I'd thought to take a photo of that - although you can see the cooked result. Then she had a bath and we washed her hair which is like the worst part of her week ever! Came downstairs and we made the icing - she started spooning it onto the cakes but then decided to let me do it while she did the sprinkles. Oh and she sat in ...
It's already March and I haven't blogged since Elana's birthday. I haven't even written anything in Elana's baby book since long before her 3rd birthday - what a bad mummy I am. I got a hair cut a couple weeks ago. Elana started day care one day a week. Over the Christmas break everything shut down and she was so bored and lonely. Laila (next door neighbour) had gone overseas on holidays for a month just after Elana's birthday, Play Group broke up for the holidays and returne...
Happy Birthday Elana Grace! My baby is three today. Elana Grace P came into the world at 1:21am on Saturday 6th December 2003. She weighed 3600 grams or 7 pounds 15 ounces, was 50cm long with a 35cm head circumference. She had the cord wrapped around her neck twice but had really good apgar scores and the doctors weren't worried because they didn't tell me (and Nick didn't either) I read it on my chart two days later. For about 20days she's been counting down to this day "Birthday o...
Today I put Elana in the bath with her track suit pants and knickers around her ankles. Elana was driving me crazy today she was just very very grizzly she really wanted Nick to be home from work and wasn't very easy to console. By the time bath time came around I was so over it she got Kraft Mac & Cheese for dinner. So I ran the bath while she was sitting in Nick's chair listening to her playlist on Nick's comp (Wish You Well - Bernard Fanning, Don't You Think It's Time - Bob Evans, Fix...
My kid is funny. Today was dress up day at playgroup so she went as a fairy princess. My mum worked in an Op Shop and she used to give me bags of clothes she'd collect for E. Drove me crazy. But she had this white flower girl dress - yellow stains - it's got a satin bodice and a satin peticot and there's all this tulle over the top with a zig-zag hem. I bought a $6 tiara, rings & necklace set from Kmart (the rings are in the cupboard she didn't get them) and a $3 pair of wings from Targ...
Elana's been sick all day watching dvds etc so I only just saw this. While I wasn't a fan there is no doubt that he is an Australian Icon Apparently he was stung by a stingray and died from heart failure on the way to the hospital. His family are believed to be in Tasmania but the news has had said there's been now word from Australia Zoo. How sad for Terri, Bindi and Bob and how even sadder that next year the first anniversary of his death will be Father's Day. He was 43. RIP Croc...
Your brother in law calls at 7am to tell your husband that blood elves are now to become paladins and that's like THE biggest news ever.
"No, we're not eating yoghurt in the toilet" Elana's miserable she's got a cold and is crying about everything. I put track pants on her instead of jeans (they're warmer and they're quite pretty with flowers on the bottom they're not her ratty round the house pants) she wanted to wear the shirt with the butterflies on it (it's dirty so I told her we'd wash it and she could wear it tomorrow when we went shopping) she wanted to walk down the stairs so I started down then she screamed...
Elana is coming up on 30months - 2 & a half it's when we stop talking in months -- I think. Today I started teaching her about big letters and little lettters and about her surname. She already recognises a few letters E (Elana) D (dorothy dinosaur/daddy) M (mummy) N (nana/natalie) A (alligator/Alex) and G (gran/granpa/grandma) Sunrise (morning news program like GMA or NBC-Today) has a scrolling news bullitan down the bottom of the screen and yesterday morning she stood there for 5 minute...
I've been on JU for over two years - I know this because I clearly remember writing my "i'm 21 on the other side of the world" blog the day after my birthday and it's 5days after my 23rd birthday so it's definitely two years. I'm 23. I feel so old. I had a really great day despite the Origin loss. Rin made me cupcakes and bought me a Jersey with my name on it (my senior jersey got lost 3years ago) it's a state of origin jersey but it's not really obvious and there's a "trina" embroi...
Elana has started calling me by my nickname Treen (Trina is short for Katrina and then it gets shortened again to Trin (treen) lol Australians!) She calls me Treen. She started some time last week. My parents sometimes called me Treen when I was younger, Jess & Rin have called me Treen off and on for 10years and Nick occassionally calls me Treen too but now my two year is doing it. It starts out "Mummy, Mummy Mummy, Treen, Treen" like she's getting my attention and Mummy wasn't working. ...
Elana is 28months. She's grown so much in the last few weeks. A few days ago she simultaniously discovered her ride on truck, her baby doll, stuffed toys and chocolate. She's mad about trains. We bought her a wooden trainset from Ikea and we're collecting the Thomas the Tank Engine wooden trains. So far we have Percey, Daisy and Emily and Thomas, James & Toby are on lay-by. Next up are the classic engines Gordon, Henry and Edward and the other girl trains Lady, Mavis & Molly. She pla...
