It's already March and I haven't blogged since Elana's birthday. I haven't even written anything in Elana's baby book since long before her 3rd birthday - what a bad mummy I am. I got a hair cut a couple weeks ago. Elana started day care one day a week. Over the Christmas break everything shut down and she was so bored and lonely. Laila (next door neighbour) had gone overseas on holidays for a month just after Elana's birthday, Play Group broke up for the holidays and returne...
Today I put Elana in the bath with her track suit pants and knickers around her ankles. Elana was driving me crazy today she was just very very grizzly she really wanted Nick to be home from work and wasn't very easy to console. By the time bath time came around I was so over it she got Kraft Mac & Cheese for dinner. So I ran the bath while she was sitting in Nick's chair listening to her playlist on Nick's comp (Wish You Well - Bernard Fanning, Don't You Think It's Time - Bob Evans, Fix...
Your brother in law calls at 7am to tell your husband that blood elves are now to become paladins and that's like THE biggest news ever.
I've been on JU for over two years - I know this because I clearly remember writing my "i'm 21 on the other side of the world" blog the day after my birthday and it's 5days after my 23rd birthday so it's definitely two years. I'm 23. I feel so old. I had a really great day despite the Origin loss. Rin made me cupcakes and bought me a Jersey with my name on it (my senior jersey got lost 3years ago) it's a state of origin jersey but it's not really obvious and there's a "trina" embroi...
We're moving on Saturday. We signed the lease yesterday and were supposed to pick up the keys this morning but we didn't. The movers are coming between 10 and 12 on Saturday and I've hardly packed a thing. Because as I was looking around trying to decide where do I begin it occured to me half this stuff isn't suitable for boxes and hence the magic of woolworths/coles green bags they're sturdy, they're lighter then boxes and they have handles. But once the packing is over and you've unpack...
It's 5 past 9am. Elana is lying on her tummy watching Bambaloo (have I mentioned I hate bambaloo?) having been awake since 4 freaking AM. Yes apparently she woke up very upset but I only woke up when I rolled over and there she was sitting between me and Nick - at 4am. She lay/sat/stood between us until 20 past 5am when Nick turned the tv on to see the time and she and Nick got at at 6am. I managed to doze until 7am when I had to get up to give her weetbix and iron nick's clothes -- it was...
Even though nothing has really happened I feel like I've been really busy. I think I've just been really reluctant to blog for reasons I will not get into but they suck anyway. Elana is 18months old now. She's 81cm (2.6 foot) tall and roughly 12kg (26 pounds) she's a very confident walker and runner and is attempting to jump -- it's really funny to watch, and dance. She has 3 proper words duck - duct alex - asss jatz - datz as well as Da-Dah (dada) UT (up) soc (sock) soos (shoe...
It's not my birthday anymore (well it still is in some JU homes but not mine) I had a really good day yesterday, I got to sleep in a little, Nick made the coffee, and he did some dishes and he got Elana up. I got the two of us ready after he left because we were going out. I got my hair cut and coloured. I had a Red Rooster Rooster Roll & chips with juice for lunch and I watched 9 episodes of Friends. (I'm addicted to those rooster rolls ever since Grease I've had 3 since Grease) Nic...
I'm 22 today. This means my blog is like 13months old. Nick & Elana woke me up late (7am instead of 6:45am) and they gave me presents, Nick made me croissants and coffee - it was lovely. I got Friends Season 1 and 2 on DVD, the dvd of Princess Bride which means I have it on all media (VCD, VHS and DVD) HOOORAY!!!!!!!!! I got a book that looks really interesting it's about this Indian who wins who wants to be a millionaire but gets thrown in jail because they think he muct have cheated -...
I saw Grease the musical last night with Rin and Nick. Nick's dad Kim came over after Elana had eaten her vegetables but before custard and the bottle. I'd already put her in her pjamas ready to go to bed all he had to do was give her the dummy, put her in bed with her blanket turn on the aquarium and walk out. Easy. He had no problems whatsoever. She apparently kept bringing the same book to him had her bottle as normal and went to bed (without the dummy - that was a big surprise I came h...
So it's Labour Day in Queensland and everyone gets the day off (except stay at home mothers, Nick and Alex) Nick's working today because the stock market isn't closed and I'm not sure why Alex is working - maybe gamers don't take holidays ?? either way. So Elana has a really bad morning apparently waking up at 2 (nick got up then) he made me go to her at 4am - I picked her up changed her nappy, took off her pjama pants and zipped her sleeping bag but up again put her in her cot and left...
I think I should start a column called "todays Random objects Elana plays with" about all the things that aren't toys that keep Elana amused for hours. A few minutes ago I commenced the "tidyup" before Nick gets home. This involves me picking up all the "toys" out of the hallway so Daddy doesn't trip on anything. Most of the time it's just picking up the magnetic letters and putting them back on the fridge and picking up some blocks that had been strewn back in the box but today as I lo...
Which is probably the most exciting thing I can talk about that's happened It's Tuesday again so I thought I'd do a week in review update (two weeks) So my last "update" was feb 21 - and I said I was thinking about going to the shops it get cocoa pops and biscuits - well I didn't go to the shop. But that afternoon or the next Nick brought home cocoa pops. Which was cool. You heard all about the faintale, Cate Blanchett winning the oscar and Elana's adventure with her blanke...
I found this amazing blog (community really) a few days ago, and I found this post just this morning. It's kinda what was I was talking about in my other blog, which was more a rant. I had no words for Blue Dev, like I had no words for my friend and I have many tears after reading all these stories. In the effort to make blogs interesting I haven't done "this is what I've done lately" blog but I've run out of interesting things so - ner Elana is 14months old (almost 15) she's not only walking now but running. She has like 12+ teeth and loves to sing - her favourite song is twinkle twinkle little star, Yesterday she was having a grizzly afternoon and after she finished her bottle she started crying, she got up ran down the hallway to get her dummy from her cot and while in her ...
