Thursday night Nick made THE most amazing dinner - pancetta wrapped chicken with camembert and rosemary potatos --- SO SO SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! Nick went to Maclean at 9:30am Friday morning for a pipeband competition. That morning I made him breakfast - something I've never done - Fried egg, bacon, coffee & juice. Rin came round about 10-11ish - we went to the Brisbane convention centre warehouse clearence sale thing. Didn't buy anything much - I bought Nick a music book of Brahmes for the p...
Nick has outdone himself again. This time he made me my own easter egg. He couldn't find a Cherry Ripe Egg this year (as opposed to the milk chocolate eggs with cherry ripes (or chocettes) So he made his own He bought a Cabury cherry ripe chocettes and milk chocolate egg pack - cut the egg in half, melted down the chocoettes and spread the mixture around the egg put the two halves back together wrapped it up again and put it in the freezer. My very own cherry ripe egg.
Our next door neighbour has two cats. One a siamese like the ones in Lady & the Tramp and the other is a beautiful chocolate brown (but I don't knw the breed I've never really paid much attention) Elana had been really quiet for the last 10 minutes or so - usually I know what she's doing by the sounds around her but I heard NO noise. So I went to investigate. She heard me coming as she always does and came towards me dummy firmly planted in mouth (hence the silence) then she turned arou...
Link It goes from 1956 until 1989 - if you fit in there find out your Popstrology sign. Mine is 1983 - Flashdance (what a feeling) by Irene Carr (psst Tegan that's yours too) My husband's is Everybreath you take by the Police My dad and mum both have Elvis Songs (1957 & 1959) and my sister is Michael Jacksons man in the mirror (1988) I looked up every birthday of all the people I could think of - it was really cool (all the people I could think of isn't just my immediate family...
Which is probably the most exciting thing I can talk about that's happened It's Tuesday again so I thought I'd do a week in review update (two weeks) So my last "update" was feb 21 - and I said I was thinking about going to the shops it get cocoa pops and biscuits - well I didn't go to the shop. But that afternoon or the next Nick brought home cocoa pops. Which was cool. You heard all about the faintale, Cate Blanchett winning the oscar and Elana's adventure with her blanke...
Elana is so independent now. She walks. She runs She yells She tries to hold conversations - mostly noise and babble but she can say UP (ut) and can can say YUM and she can hum twinkle twinkle little star and incy wincy spider. She will run to lay down on her couch and wait for her bottle. She will go down to her bedroom and get her bunny rug and dummy out of the cot She will bring me her shoes and sit down the floor trying to put them one herself holding her foot in the air with her...
I never have been really tolerent of small talk - I don't like it and since "growing up" - getting married, moving out of my parents house and having a baby I have an even lower tolerence for it. I just can't do How are you, how's the weather, what have ou been doing all day/week/month (month I might be able to do) I'm a stay at home mother -now alot of mothers do things - they go to mothers groups or play group or gymboree or visting friends some have part time work outside of the home or...
For the last couple of weeks we've been having issues with our dvd player. At first I blamed the stereo which is crap beyound belief It's a 3 changer cd/tape/radio thing and all 3 disks are broken and the tape part doesn't work and the radio part is good most times but doesn't get all stations because of the aerial/antenna or something So it's pretty much used only to listen to dvds - mostly Hi5. Anyway we had issues with the volume going down to inaudiable and up to deafening without war...
I'm kinda clueless, I read most of the articles in the political, current events sections of JU and I watch the news on Sunrise every morning. A minute ago I read Lw's article about the homeless man who thinks Bush is Hilter (incarnate I guess) And I watch the West Wing - well I do when I can be bothered staying up until 11pm (midnight) But what I don't get is that Jed Bartlett (Martin Sheen -- George W Bush) is advised by Toby (???) and Josh (what's Josh's job anyway - like is he Donald...
Elana has started doing this really odd thing, I think I've mentioned how she goes up to her bedroom and comes back with her dummy. If I haven't she has this habit of kinda stopping whatever it was she was doing like a light bulb has gone off in her head and she's like "oh someting missing" she stops what she's doing and runs up to her bedroom (or the hallway/playroom) and comes back with her dummy firmly planted in her mouth and goes back to whatever if was she was doing before. I've me...
There was a news break a few minutes ago just before Oprah started talking about Cate Blanchett's Oscar win. About Time!!! We'll get the telecast of the Oscars tonight at 8:30pm but for those who care - she won. It's not a vindication for the other times she was nominated and missed out - especially when she was beat out in 1999 by Gweneth Paltrow. I could never understand how Her performance of being a girl, pretending to be a boy pretending to be a girl - in a basically Romantic Comed...
Elana found a fantale - there was an open package on the beside table in our bedroom, we've had the door closed so she couldn't go in there and create mischief but lately she'd figured out how to push open doors (and the latches don't shut it properly so it opens if you give it a good push) I was on the phone and Elana was (i thought) playing in her room I came to the loungeroom and she's sitting on the floor watching a cooking show oh television so I went into the kitchen to get her a bo...

I found this amazing blog (community really) a few days ago, and I found this post just this morning. It's kinda what was I was talking about in my other blog, which was more a rant. I had no words for Blue Dev, like I had no words for my friend and I have many tears after reading all these stories. In the effort to make blogs interesting I haven't done "this is what I've done lately" blog but I've run out of interesting things so - ner Elana is 14months old (almost 15) she's not only walking now but running. She has like 12+ teeth and loves to sing - her favourite song is twinkle twinkle little star, Yesterday she was having a grizzly afternoon and after she finished her bottle she started crying, she got up ran down the hallway to get her dummy from her cot and while in her ...
