For the last three night's I've been forgoing all my usual tv programs and watching a tele-movie on the ABC. I watched the Oscar's earlier this year so I heard a little bit about Angels in America (hereafter referred to as AiA or Angels depending on what I type try to keep up) when they were talking about the nominations it received. I knew it would be a quality movie looking at the cast - Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Emma Thompson, Mary Louise Parker - the list goes on but I had no idea th...

Former front man of that fantastic Australian rock band Midnight Oil - Peter Garrett has just held a press conference in Sydney to announce he WILL be running for the safe Labour seat in Kingsford Smith. Garrett along with Opposition Leader (and PM to be IMO) Mark Latham held a press conference not 10 minutes ago that interupted Channel 7's coverage of Ronald Reagan's funeral. In it he addressed why he was running, his long standing commitment to the environment and the fact that he HAS v...

Okay - I get that Ronald Reagan was an important man for Americans (and Russians) I get that he led a very full life. He was in his 60's when he was President (oldest one) he was a movie star, he wrote nice love letters, and he died on Sunday age 93. I can even understand why they're giving him a State funeral today and a National funeral on Friday (kidna) -- And I get why NBC in America is doing coverage of the whole thing commenting like it's a football game. What I don't get is what ...

Quote Teegstar "I made it through the wilderness" "this particular sigh in question though is even more loaded with relief and happiness, as it also incorportates anticipation of all the groovy things which are happening in the upcoming week. this, my friends, is a very special sigh. " It's Tegan's 21st birthday on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jamie Burnside said in one of his posts that his baby Kenny is transfixed by the American Idol themesong - well for ours (among others) its Wheel of Fortune - the whole show. Elana has always liked the tv (Nick refers to it as her brother) since she was a few days old and she was watching the cricket. I'm not kidding - one day we were over at Kim & Val's and Elana was crying she was about 2weeks? anyway Val turned on the tv because I told her Elana likes cricket and she noticed and stopped...

The days and weeks (and months) are flying by. My baby (there's a new pic of her on waynes pic site)will be 6months old on the 6th which is SUNDAY. It's mind blowing. And she's growing up so fast - she's been having rice cereal for almost 2 weeks now (we started her Saturday week ago (22)) and she's moved on from those first "oh this is disgusting why are you making me eat this" faces, to "i still don't think much of this but I'll humor you" to "you think I'm eating this but really I'm jus...

I don't blog on weekends, I'll only blog while Nick's at work - that way I can't be accused of liking joeuser more then him or other such nonsense - (don't get me started on his japanese cartoons!!) Anyway some Monday morning I found I was unable to login - something about having to have cookies enabled (my security is accept all cookies) so I ignored it and surfed around anonymously - it wasn't really my intention to be anonymous when I replyed to notsohighlyevolved's post about Aus and C...

that is to say QLD lost to NSW last night in the first Origin. Man it was a GOOD game - at half time the score was QLD 4-0 (Smith missed the conversion) then NSW got a try got the conversion and a penalty so the score was NSW 8-4 then QLD got another try but again Smithe missed the conversion so we're 8-8 (and there's the new golden point rule because you're no longer allowed to draw!) What a crock - so there's about 10minutes left and my house is buzzing there were 8 football FANATIC...

It's not necessarily a bad thing and I'm sure we all do it about something - but I realised this afternoon while talking on MSN to a friend that I've become one of those mums incapable of holding a conversation without mentioning Elana. Wayne - Less than you think is more than you imagined ? says: and if someone else sends me a message, it makes that the active window and i continue typing, looking at my fingers trina says: (my baby doesnt want to sleep - shes crying and making sounds l...

GO QUEENSLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tonight is a clash of the titans - state against state game 1 of 3 in the age old battle to decide which is better CANETOADS or cockroaches. This has been going since 1980 - out of 69 there've been 2 ties and 34 wins to Qld. We've taken the shield 12 times with consequetive wins (all 3 games out of 3) in 1988, 1989 and 1995. Tonight will be game 70 - and I'm very excited - It's going to be a close one!! With so many Qlders out injured including ou...

I read that post by Dharma which made me cry and I went to the link and it broke my heart - especially that letter. Anyway I was talking on MSN to a friend of mine I've blanked out her name for anonymity but that conversation just made me so mad!!! The mush they ate on the Nebuchadnezzar in "the Matrix" was actually in fact Farex rice cereal - it had to be - gee no wonder Elana hates it - I'm convinced - she's okay with the texture cause just to test i made it the same consistency as her milk using her milk and she still hated it. I have a friend who didn't use rice cereal but mushed up milk arrowroot biscuits with water -- what's the general concesus on this.??????????? Anotther suggestion I've been given was to put a tiny bit of ap...
