Okay so I don't have much to say - i just didn't like all those poems so I needed a new topic. I was cringing reading all that rubbish again - how can a 16yo girl think she was so in love with a pointless crush - it was bad. That kid didn't know what love was. *sigh* anyway so this morning apparently ELana got Nick up at 4am and wouldn't let him leave the room - I wouldn't know I was asleep - although I do remember waking up and hearing the music from her fish and thought huh? then I ...

I didn't know where to put this - I found it in a box -- it's a short essay I wrote in year 11 English (1999) about my bedroom -- I can't even remember the point anymore - I think it was description... *shrugs* *coolest pertains to temperature *i moved out briefly in 2001 for Uni then permenantly in 2003 when I got married *between 2000 & 2003 said bedroom had many rearrangements and actually got built-ins put in the week after my wedding and it only took 13yrs. *the punctuation is delib...

DIsclaimer - sometime in grade 11/12 I was talking to Tegan about 2 essays I had to write for Ancient History - my friends once discussed the fact that the best way for me to learn stuff wasto put it to lyrics of a song or into a movie - because I have a knack for remembering whole paragraphs of movie script after seeing it once maybe twice - definitely more The first essay (i just found this in a box) was about Tiberius and references to people I know, in jokes and things that only made sen...

Okay my 6month old Elana intimidates me and here's why she's a BOTTOM SHUFFLER She's just discovered in the last few days that the bobbing up and down on the spot we used to think was dancing can actually get her around - she's fast too she could be on the other side of the room in a few minutes. We haven't bought a high-chair - we got given one befroe she was born but somewhere in that time andd when we moved and when we wanted to start Elana on solids the straps for said chair ha...

Frankly I find "instant" coffee an abomination.. God's 11th Commandment should have been "Thou shalt not drink powered coffee" Companies like International Roast, Maxwell House and Pablo - as well as Homebrand, Savings etc should be ashamed of themselves.. I know they make the rubbish they call coffee for people economically challenged but honestly does saving that 2 dollars by buying a 1kg tin of owered coffee really make you feel better then your friend who payed the same amount - sa...

I don't know if you've played it before or if it has other names but it's this really cool game we used to play at gatherings. Ok you have a deck of cards and everyone is dealt a card - Count out the number of players (don't count the narrator and only have that amount of cards making sure that 2 of them - or more if there's ALOT of people are Jacks/Jokers for the Mafia and that at least on is a King/Ace as the detective --- just not the number cards. Then deal the cards to everyone but on...

I almost hi-jacked Dharma's birthday blog yesterday with this topic but it got me thinking about all the weird stuff I ate as a kid and a teen and an adolescent. Like all good Aussie's I LOVE vegemite (my husband hates it - I think he's nuts and completely unAustralian) However unlike most Australian's I won't just have my vegemite on bread or crackers. When I was little - say 9? I used to have vegemite and lettuce sandwiches -- and if there was no bread I'd have a salad I'd get a small...

It's 1:11pm and I've only just logged onto Joeuser like half an hour ago. This is big news for me. It's Thursday and I can't remember what I did Monday (yes I can it was a public holiday) but I do know that Tuesday and Wednesday I was on JU almost the whole day ----Tuesday was so bad Nick left at 8am and I put Elana back to bed and jumped on JU - in my defence I was heavily following MP's Ryan White, BS's homophobia and PB's Life in the Firing line - which were all long and hotly controversal...

I'm going to sound like a bad mummy here and lose all crediabilty BUT Elana has been able to hold her bottle herself for very small periods of time before she gets bored and gives up for over 3months - even as a newborn she'd place her fists either side of the bottle to "hold" it. Anyway I was feeding her and a really really had to pee so i lay her down on the mat - no I didn't prop her or the bottle up -- put the bottle in her mouth she clasped her hands around it to hold it up and ke...

GO QUEENSLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tonight is a clash of the titans - state against state game 2 of 3 in the age old battle to decide which is better CANETOADS or cockroaches. This has been going since 1980 - out of 70 there've been 2 ties and 34 wins to Qld. We've taken the shield 12 times with consequetive wins (all 3 games out of 3) in 1988, 1989 and 1995. Tonight will be game 71 - and I'm very excited - watching it home alone with my husband tonight - no parties just the footy ...

This Category should be in *Bitching* but it doesn't exist so.. I've been biting my tongue on this subject for a few weeks now, I'm not sure what gave me the courage to write it -- maybe the cold/flu tablets are kicking in my brain but not doing anything for my cold.... There are certain blogs on Joeuser I just won't visit - because I don't want to see imo fiction or crap or someone jumping up another person's butt because they a) stated the obvious or stated something completely...

Elana's been crawling backwards all day today -- unintentially -- she's actually trying to move forward towards the toys but somewhat humorously she's getting further and further away from them -- actually she's making it to them slowly by going around the mat - but backwards -- it's VERY funny to watch. Anyway I put her down on the mat before - on her tummy but she wasn't happy so I rolled her onto her back and put her head on a cushion - about 10minutes later I looked over and she was of...

Dear anyone who read the two articles I wrote late last night, I apologise for anything I may have said to embarress myself and have sworn I will not visit Joeuser after 8pm. Here I will attempt to re-review Angels in America - hopefully a little less insanely (I will be leaving the afore mentioned articles as a reminder to me that I'm nuts) *** What a powerful movie, I wish I could have seen the theatre production. I've spent the better part of this morning trying to find a script...

Watching Sunrise this morning I saw a headline "USA threatens to limit intelligence sharing with Australia under a Labor government" What the? So if Labor wins the election this year then USA won't be our friend anymore?
