The days and weeks (and months) are flying by. My baby (there's a new pic of her on waynes pic site)will be 6months old on the 6th which is SUNDAY. It's mind blowing.

And she's growing up so fast - she's been having rice cereal for almost 2 weeks now (we started her Saturday week ago (22)) and she's moved on from those first "oh this is disgusting why are you making me eat this" faces, to "i still don't think much of this but I'll humor you" to "you think I'm eating this but really I'm just storing it in my mouth so I can do this watch me now*blows rasberry* look all that stuff is all over you, the floor the wall and me I think this is very funny" and onto "you know this stuff isn't so bad well look at that I'm eating it all have you got anymore?" and the response when shown the empty bowl "No? oh well *blows rasberries* I didn't really want it in the first place *big grin*

We had a highchair given to us before Elana was born but somewhere in the process of moving it seems to be missing the straps - needless to say we're not using it - we were sitting her on our lap and feeding her but we've since discovered

Elana can sit up!!!!! She will sit up for long periods of time without falling over - so for the last couple of days I've been feeding her while she is sitting up on her mat - which has met with both positive and negative responses.

But I swear Elana's just like Pavlov's dogs - as soon as she hears the kettle she looks up expectantly and opens her mouth like a baby bird waiting for a worm. (which is very funny when she's just finished eating and you're just boiling water for tea or stock)And she's started doing it when she sees her pink bowl and spoon and as soon as you tie a bib on - oh bib is it dinner time ok *opens mouth*

Speaking of the bib - the other morning I had an absolutely impossible time trying to get her to eat - she just wasn't interested - she instead picked up her bib and was trying to read it.

FYI - it said "who needs a sports hero when I've got my dad"

Anyway so she's 6months on Sunday - this afternoon we're going to try and see if she'll have a second meal of rice cereal and in a couple of days time after we go to the markets which ARE on this saturday we'll try her on something else.

Aww, Trina!!!! She's beautiful!

Enjoy her while she's little...they grow up way too fast.  I miss mine being little like that....so now I seize every opportunity to play with everyone else's babies!
