Elana will be 21months next Tuesday which is really weird. I was sick yesterday which left me too weak for us to go to Kindermusik this morning.
Elana's been playing really well with her toys, books and stroller so I've had a bit of peace. Yesterday Nick stayed home from work and I slept all day in Elana's room but her door doesn't close and she made a game of running up the hallway to push it open before Daddy could get her.
So in the afternoon he took her for a walk for an hour and I slept blissfully uninterrupted for that time.
She's saying more and more things and she's willing to say more things. The biggest thing is she started counting last week. I'm not sure where she learnt because the only counting is 1 grey elephant, 2 grey elephants etc or one step two step ticklle under there, or the page in One fish two fish red fish blue fish that goes Say look at his fingers 1 ,2, 3 how many fingers do I see 1, 2,3 ,4 .. 5, 6,7 8,9,10 he has 11 eleven this is something new I wish I had eleven too.
Or how when she's about to be tickled or go down the slide we say 1, 2, 3 - whee
So this doesn't explain for she can count to 10. one TWO Three four (she always skips 5 so we say it for her) SIX (she sometimes says seven like seh) ATE (eight it has this accent on it it's my favourite nine TEEENN
and if you don't count with her it's TWO ATE NIIIGH TEEEENNNN.
Two nights ago she started a stopping game with Nick where she'd run up the hallway and then she'd yell stop and then they'd laugh and she'd run again. Nick thinks I taught her but I only say stop when she's naughty so...
She's recently become more interested in the tupperware cupboard pulling all the tupperware out stirring with a bowl and spoon. Wednesday morning she actually had a recipe book open and she was sitting on her couch with the book, a bowl and she was stirring this empty bowl with a spoon.
She makes up songs too herself. Usually they're nonsense until they turn into something recogniseable (twinkle twinkle) but occassionally I've heard her sing the good morning song from Kindermusik which is HUGE. It means that even though she runs around during class she's getting something out of it.
Last week (lesson 3) she actually participated in the first 20minutes and was only running around for the last part (it's a 45min lesson) so that's an improvement maybe today if we had of made it she would have been good.
That's all I can think of for now.
