Yesterday was Valentines Day. The night before (Sunday) I ironed Nick's shirt and pants so I wouldn't have to rush in the morning. Nick let me sleep in a little, then he got the baby up and I started breakfast for the 3 of us while he made coffee. I put on a cd of our songs and he slow danced with me in the kitchen while waiting for the kettle to boil.
I gave Nick his present - the Life of Brian on dvd, made him some pasta for lunch and sent him off to work.

Elana spent most of the day playing in various rooms of the house, including her new playroom [Sunday Nick and I cleaned out the study (read junk room) and brought his desk out to the lounge got the computer off the dining table and turned the study into a playroom for all Elana's toys - she loves it] and running from he playroom to me, over to a corner of the china cabinet that had some papers and a photo frame that I thought she couldn't reach but she could and everytime I removed her, told her to stop or said Elana Grace -- she giggled. it was absolutely hilarious Mummy's trying to discipline me - HAH. Finally I removed the items and Elana -where she threw a tantrum after finding that they'd been moved.
I called Nick to tell him what his darling daughter was up to.

Nick came home just after 4pm and he didn't play World of Warcraft at all - instead we watched the Life of Brian and played with Elana then he went out for his session and I got Elana ready for bed, washed my hair, set the table and changed into my little black dress.
Nick came home and heat up the pan for the steaks while he had a shower and got dressed and in no time we were sitting at our newly cleaned off dining table in good clothes (no shoes) with jersey lilly's and pepper steak.

After dinner we had apple pie, he played some WoW and I watched Desperate Housewives and then we watched the season 4 series final of Coupling together - oh I really really hope theire's a season 5.

Oh - and my Valentines present - The Notebook on dvd. We BOTH read and loved the book a few months ago and had been planning on seeing the movie, but we never made it and it came out on dvd last week and now I have it, so we're going to find some time this weekend and watch it together.

It was a really really nice Valentines Day.

Champas and I had a period where we had to give everybody a copy of Life of Brian for their birthday. It was our mission that everybody should get a copy. Now we are on to, or least I am on to getting everybody a copy of World of Chicken by Nick Earls.

As for Valentines Day what can I say, it was just another day for me......*sigh*

What a fabulous idea - we have all of them except the meaning of life now and the flying circuses - I've been slowly collecting them. We also have the complete Fawlty Towers series.

World of Chickens - Is that the one with the guy who works at the chicken place which sounds suspiciously like it's located where McDonalds at Indro is now? And he has this theme song Eye of the tiger?

I read that one - but I haven't read any others. Did you know that they're looking at turning 48shades of brown (?) into a movie. They made something....street it's escaped me I can't remember what Street it is but it was made into a play - which I didn't see because I have a baby and babie's don't do plays
I wanted to read that one about the baby - I can't remember if I did though - I read so many books in such a short period of time but I haven't read a book since having Elana - which is dumb but true.

That would be the one, I loved it. I related to the main character all too well.

I think several of his works have been turned into plays. It think they are turning Bachelor Kisses into a miniseries but I haven't heard any updates. Perfect Skin (the sequel to Bachelor Kisses) is the one about the baby. I just read Solid Gold which is Bachelor Kisses and Perfect skin in one. Brilliant books, hilarious and profound.

Zig Zag street is the other book you are referring to. Last time I bought World of Chickens for a friend the shopgirl actually lived on Zig Zag Street with Nick Earls.

Sounds perfectly understandable to me.

Have a good one trina.
