I've figured it out or Why I don't like sequels

Sequels/sequals - neither looks right and I'm having a bad spelling day - hey I'm having a bad day but I might blog about that later now that I've remembered again

Okay I've figured out what annoys me about parts 2-? in movies It seems obvious and I've probably figured it out before but they use the same jokes.
Champas Socialist (a very interesting Australian blogger I read regularly) has a thread going called Abort the Gays in which one of his readers quoted a movie line from Waynes World citing that Wayne and Garth said to Aerosmith they weren't worthy. Now I know Waynes World like the back of my hand I've seen it about 40times - I had it on tape (after Hook) at my parents house and I'd watch that or Bill & Ted's excellent adventure when I was bored so i KNOW that Wayne & Garth said "We're not worthy" to Alice Cooper another long haired rocker (ish)
BUT I've only seen Waynes world two maybe twice but I think it was just once and while I recall lots of parts - the Dana Carvey lookalike girl in the bank played by Olivia D'Abo and the scene where Wayne's talking to Casandras dad in subtitles - I didn't recall the "We're not worthy" to Steven Tyler
But I shouldn't have had to.

What's the point of using the same lines - you may as well just reshoot the same movie again. But I've noticed that all the sequels I don't like do it.
Waynes World 2. Bill & Teds Bogus Journey (gee that was a stupid movie) Legally Blonde 2 (I LOVED!!!!!! legally blonde) Princess Diaries 2, Charlies Angels Full Throtle.

This is why I love Look who's Talking Too (not 1 or 3 ie Now because Now tries to be as good as too and fails miserably) it's the comic genius of Bruce Willis and Roseanne coupled with cute babies and toilet humour "Oh No it's mr toilet man"
Now has talking Dogs, Bruce Willis is no longer needed because Mikey (and Julie) is old enough to have a child actor speaking for themselves (simon from 7th heaven) and it's just not funny

*sigh* again this sounded better in my head - why is that - Maybe I need to go eat something feed my brain or something - I don't think it'll help I think I'm just destined to have interesting ideas but be boring in the execution. Or maybe it's just all boring

before i hit the nibblies, i didn't think that was boring and i know ezackly what you mean -- i hate it when they try to use the same lines again in a sequel. shanghai knights was another one like that : lame recycled joke after lame recycled joke.

Thanks for the plug. Who'd have thought my political blog would inspire a rant about Wayne's World 2. Good blog. Funny and a good point. I hate repeating lines. Austin Powers was the worst offender.

The first one was funny the following two were a waste of my time.

Oddly enough Austin and Wayne are both friends of Mike Myers so that may have something to do with it! (and you're welcome)
