It rained most of this weekend. Friday Elana and my mum and I went Christmas shopping which was expensive and fun and Elana is the only one who's got any presents so far - her first birthday is two weeks before Christmas so yeah...
We're about to leave the shopping centre when we notice it's bucketing down rain so I call Nick who looks up bom.gov.au and finds that in 10minutes time there will be a gap in the rain which should be enough time to get home. 10 minutes after we got home it started bucketing down again.
Natalie came over while her parents went to see cir di solei (sp?) and we played Mousetrap and watched the Lion King 2.
Saturday was cloudy all day but no rain - most of the big rain happened after 11pm. We didn't go to the farers markets instead we went to Indro and did some grocery shopping and then had lunch at Nemos. Nick made Elana a casserole which didn't go down too well - steak, carrots, tomatos, mushrooms, then the boys came round to do some coding - we ate smoked steak wraps with sour cream it was a Jamie Oliver recipe from his new books which I bought for Nick on Friday. While they worked downstairs I watched both Charlies Angels movies.
Sunday it poured all morning. Our front entrance was flooded 2-7cm of water depending on the part of the path. So Nick took Elana's jeans off and took her outside and walked her through the puddles that covered our cement path (there's a roof over it so she wasn't rained on)
She LOVED it - splashing and stomping she splashed me - she wanted to sit down but wasn't allowed to. Then I took her back inside and rugged her up warm and we sat at the door watching Daddy try to make a dam with bricks. He went down the side to continue trying to make a dam and we watched from her bedroom window.
Then we went and had some lunch - Nick had stewed some apples and pears in an attempt to get Elana out of eating just tinned pureed 4month fruits. She wasn't a fan - Elana has to way of making herself sick or fake coughing when she doesn't want to eat something. We also fed her small bits of cheese which she loved - she'd eat the fruit if I dipped the cheese in it and put it in her mouth. Mostly she just pickd it up rubbed it into the highchair and threw it on the floor.
I'm not looking forward to this afternoons lunch - especially since I'm going it alone.
Sunday afternoon she didn't have a nap (again!!) and we went to Nick's parents house for the aftenoon/dinner. I played it safe by taking the last jar of mummy mash (sweet potato, mince, potato, pumkin & tomato sauce whizzed to a mash) instead of attempting to get her to eat daddy casserole while at her grandparents house. It's going to be hard enough tonight. We came home just before 7 where she went to bed and we watched Australian Idol
I hope Courtney and Casey will be in the top two but I think it's going to be Anthony and someone. *sigh*
Tonight is the 3rd last friends, the 2nd last idol verdict and the second last sex & the city episode - it's a big night for TV.
