My 8month old said so

Elana has this box - it's a hard cardboard gift box she got from Jess - it had shoes and some other stuff in it when she was born -- its purple glittery paper -- and yesterday Elana started pulling the paper off the box (we've been using it to hold her toy) I took the piece she ripped off her yesterday and distracted her with other toys and she was fine. This morning she decided to pull more paper off the box - she had the box on her lap and she was scratching at the top of the rim until it came loose and she could pull the paper off - little monkey.

I was in the kitchen on the phone and she was just sitting on the floor scrunching this piece of purple paper in her hands - which was almost okay until she started chewing on it. So I had to take it off. She screamed like I was killing her - she was so upset I took her paper off her. I picked her up and gave her a cuddle and tried to distract her with other toys - no dice.

She calmed down a bit and got the box and was trying to pull off the rest of the paper - but gave up and was just sitting looking at me giving me the dirtiest look.
She starts yelling at me ARHBABBAMUMA - really grumpilly and bursts into tears - Mean Mummy took my paper off me don't like you anymore.

*sigh*

And it begins.... Daughters always hate their moms when they don't get their way. You are a good mom though and we still love you!

Yeah she's over it now i think - she's now being a monkey not having a nap and crawling up and down her cot instead - ah she'll tire out soon

Ah, trina, just wait until they get older and they can actually say, very, very clearly, that you are, in fact the worst mommy in the world.

Sweet, sweet times.
