Yesterday was my first wedding anniversary. The morning started out well - I woke up we had bagels with philly cheese and salami the baby ate her cereal and funnily enough her ad came back - the St Margarets schoolad that Elana LOVED had gone away for a few weeks but yesterday morning about 7:15 it came back - Elana went into hysterics - she LOVES that ad.
I packed Nicks lunch - leftover pizza, a muffin and a surprise (the DaVinci Code) - he found it on the bus and is absolutely glued to it - in fact he was still reading when I fell asleep.
About 8 something after NIck left Elana was playing in the box and for some reason she put her head down on it - and poked herself in the head with the corner on the box - she wasn't happy so after she'd calmed down I put her to bed - but i don't think she went to sleep.
I got her up about 10am and tried to get her to eat but she flat out refused the cereal - so I took her out of the pram and thought about trying again later (she did the same thing on Sunday afternoon refused for half an hour and then suddenly wanted it) but she didn't want it half an hour later or 45minutes or an hour - by which time I gave up and washed it down the sink. And she didn't want to have a sleep either. About 1:30 I think it was she was sitting on her mat - still crying and thats when I went and got her dummy and bunny rug and lay her down on the cushions in the lounge - and then she went to sleep. When she woke up she happilly drank her bottle but again refeused any offer of cereal.
Earlier in the day I was talking to Tegan and she said she might drop round after she finished at the hairdresser and she'd bring a video - now Nick had unplugged the DVD player so he could have the Xbox - so i called him to ask him what I had to do to fix it and he seemed funny.
So after he got off the phone he told me on msn that he was going to come home early. So I called Tegan and asked her not to come today (which was fine cause we're seeing a movie tomorrow ie tonight - The stepford wives) and Nick came home.
Just in time to watch Hi-5. And he'd brought stuff.
Dutch smoked cheese, kabana, water crackers, maison and hazelnut flavour syrup for our capuccinos -- so for afternoon tea we had dutch smoked cheese, and the pepper wheel we'd bought on Sunday with crackers and kabana and leftover flat fanta from the other night.
Later * I had an afternoon nap and Nick woke me to say his family (James Natalie and Val - his mum) were coming over so James could put something on Nicks computer and so they could wish us a happy anniversary and see Elana.
Elana actually ate most of her cereal in the afternoon - for Nick!!! *sigh* and after they all left she had all of her bottle and was in bed right on 7'oclock.
Nick made the most delicious meal for dinner - he pan fried some chicken thigh fillets in cinnamon and I don't know what and served it with couscous (which I love!!!) that was cooked in orange juice and sultanas and honey and cinnamon and mint & parsley -- It was SOOO yummy that I decided to have my seconds for lunch today instead of last night.
After dinner we opened the Maison - Supreme and drank it out of champagne flutes while watching Friends (the one with the prom video) and then we played x-box for a little while,
After that - I gave Nick his other present - the complete series of Fawlty Towers on DVD and we watched one episode before bed - He then read some more of his book and I went to sleep,
It was a really nice day!
apart from the stuff with Elana being really grumpy and sad and teething *sigh* - she didn't want her cereal at all this morning so I have a feeling I'm in for another bad day *sigh*
But my anniversary was really nice - the parts when Nick was around that is - I Love my Husband.
