In
Ocean
In Summer it's a notion
To go and visit the ocean
Remember to put on your lotion
Before going to visit the ocean
When the sky is clear
And you don't have a fear
You could visit the ocean
But remember to put on your lotion
Colours
Yellow is the sun
It makes you think of fun
Yellow is the sand
On the playground which we're banned
Green is the colour of dill
Which sometimes makes you ill
Green is the trees up high
They make you think you could reach the sky
Blue is for the starry skyy
Floating up there very high
Blue is when you feel sad
And bleak is when you feel bad
Red is embarressment as you know
Red is stop and green is go
Red is BANKSIA with a winning streak
All the rest are oh so weak.
Seasons
Summer can be very hot
You have to wear your hat alot
Swimming keeps you pretty cool
Slop on sunscreen it's a rule
Autumn leaves are falling down
Leaving a crackling sound
Bringing out your warmer clothes
The animals are starting to doze
Winter is always very cold
Wear warm clothes you are told
There's lots of frost on the ground
During winter there's not much sound
Spring is the season of love
Everyone look up above
Blooming are all the flowers
We can look at them for hours.
**All of these were written for the poetry unit at school when I was 12.
Banksia was my school team (the others were Acacia & Kurrajong)
Sunsmart had a health campaign "SLip Slop Slap (slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen & slap on a hat)
Autumn and fall are the same - we don't hae many animals hibernating in Aus but still...
Technically in QLD we only have 2 seasons - Summer and Winter.
