Every second Saturday is market day at our house - we all get up nice and early and are out of the house by 6:30am This morning our walk was brisk because of the cold - Nick didn't think it was too bad I was frozen
The Farmers Markets are held at a school that's about 5-10minutes walk from our house - so we did our first lap - where you check out what each store has and found that the mushroom man, spice lady, herb lady and the patisserie we buy breakfast from were all there today unlike two weeks ago - but we found that the gerbera lady wasn't there - very disappointed
So we stopped off at the French Bakery and got a pie and a pork roll (last weeek we went to the German stall and got a Bratwurst) and then got 2 new spices from the spice lady then on to the mushroom man for swiss mushrooms (nick gets really excited about all this stuff - me I like the food, the lemonade and the gerberas)
We got the turkish bread we always get and some olive oil, we didn't get any lemons or limes today and we didn't buy any bread or red onions but we got eggs, potatoes and carrots - no celery this week and apparently basil is out of season - but luckily there was a stall that sold potted herbs 10 for $15 so Nick's starting up his herb garden again - we used to have herbs in pots on the balcony of our old place - but they got forgotten about in the move - the empty dirt pots are out the front.

Anyway we saw Ben and Catherine there (markets) the guys got a coffee - I was waiting for lemonade (there's a stall that mades old fashioned lemonade with lemon juice and sugar and water and ice and lots of shaking - I'd never had that until a fortnight ago - we don't have lemonade stalls as kids like you see on tv (simpsons, sitcom/family show) the only lemonade I've had was clear (or pink) and came out of bottle/can/drink dispenser and it had bubbles.)

So no gerbera's today we came home and got here just after 8am. Then Beavs came because he and Nick were going shopping Nick for a BBQ and Beavs for a Laptop. So while they were gone I got this urge to bake - don't ask me why i hardly ever bake - i put elana in the safari and everything - so I was either going to make muffins, chocolate chunk cookies or coffee snaps - but I only had 3/4 cup of brown sugar and I needed at least a cup and at most a cup & a half. SO I called Nick and told him to buy some stuff and I tried to think what else I could do - so I made potato salad and boiled water for jelly.

Then Nick came home with my stuff so I can bake this afternoon after lunch and before my father-in-law gets here. It's my brother-in-law's birthday dinner tonight so we're going over there for that.

Oh and last night I saw Love Actually - for the first time - I liked it - Nick said it was about 8 chickflicks in one and he shouldn't have to watch another chick flick for a year. But he likes Colin Firth so he was happy enough.
Beavs loved it AGAIN because he's got a thing about Hugh Grant - he IS Hugh Grant - and a movie with Hugh Grant as Prime Minister well I don't really need to say anything else. He's also quite fond of Keira Knightly.

Monday Nick's got an assignment due so that's probably what's going to happen on Sunday
*sigh* i might go do that baking and put some more washing on.

Woah... I saw Love Actually last night as well! I thought it was pretty good. Lots of gasps in horror as people did insane things... lots of nice eye candy.. such a funny movie! A few others thought all the romantic bits were tiresome and sickening, but i'm a romantic at heart The sexual frustration was so thick in some parts that I half expected spontaneous human combustion to be in the script.
