that is to say QLD lost to NSW last night in the first Origin.

Man it was a GOOD game - at half time the score was QLD 4-0 (Smith missed the conversion) then NSW got a try got the conversion and a penalty so the score was NSW 8-4 then QLD got another try but again Smithe missed the conversion so we're 8-8 (and there's the new golden point rule because you're no longer allowed to draw!)

What a crock - so there's about 10minutes left and my house is buzzing there were 8 football FANATICS in my house (and 3 people on Joeuser) and 2 of them were Blues supporters.

Anyway we KNEW if it went into Golden point time we were screwed because we had NO kickers (most of QLD is made up of bronco's except the bronco's kicker was a blue - and our best kicker was our skipper who's out with an injury)

So we lost NSW 9-8.

If only Cameron Smith didn't miss either one (or both) those conversions -- we'd have had the game sewn up!

Next Origin - June 16

Yeah... that golden point rule is pretty silly though. I know if it was us that won, I wouldn't care. But we didn't. I definitely agree that games shouldn't end in a draw because the rules governing a drawn series is a bit silly as well. They should just have the 10 minutes of extra time and just play for an extra 10 minutes. I think it would make for a much better overall game if it came to that again.

Anyways... by the look of what I saw last night... I reckon we'll take the series.
