Elana will be 21months next Tuesday which is really weird. I was sick yesterday which left me too weak for us to go to Kindermusik this morning.

Elana's been playing really well with her toys, books and stroller so I've had a bit of peace. Yesterday Nick stayed home from work and I slept all day in Elana's room but her door doesn't close and she made a game of running up the hallway to push it open before Daddy could get her.
So in the afternoon he took her for a walk for an hour and I slept...

Just for you chottu

So we discovered she's got another tooth coming through and 3 others about to break any time soon - hooray. Once we found this out we realised we could give her something for the pain she was not so obviously in - she'd been happy during the day, no excessive drooling, no unusual grumpiness, she had been off her food but I was used to that (thought it was just my cooking) and so we didn't think about teething because she was just waking up - ALOT.
Once we saw the tooth an...

The funniest thing just happened.

Okay against the wall near my kitchen is a cardboard coke can box (30 pack) there's maybe 6 cans in the box - they're for LANs anyway the box is there.

On Tuesday afternoon I was searching all the places Elana takes things (under the cot, under the change table, in the playroom, at the front door) if I've lost something chances are Elana's taken off with it and it's in one of these places - I was looking for my 1/4 cup because I was making risotto for her ...

I have the hiccups, they're quite violent, I'm trying to suppress them but it makes them louder and more violent.

I hiccup and hiccup and hiccup and Elana laughs and then she FAKE hiccups.

I hiccup she fake hiccups
I hiccup she fake hiccups

My 19month old is mocking me.

So I've told you about Linus (Elana and her blanket) and how she lays it down on the floor but gets up again right?

This afternoon she didn't get up. Right now she's asleep surrounded by blocks and magnetic letters and other toys.

I watched her lay down and I thought she'd just get up like she normally does after 5-30seconds. But she didn't. I went over to her and she was asleep.

Nick's not home and his camera's batteries are not charged yet I'd dearly love a photo of this latest escap...

So after shopping today Nick and Alex got Fish & Chips while I put the baby to bed. And boy did they choose well.

Crumbed Barramundi (I like crumbed over battered) battered pineapple, calamari and chips SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to explode.

Today we (Elana and I) went shopping with Rin, Jess (L), Sami and the 3 kids. We went to K-Mart where Elana got a pair of big girl shoes with an actual sole and she walks like a pro in them.
Had lunch (Maccas) and I was f...

Elana (16months) is sitting on the floor of the kitchen looking at her reflection in the stainless steel bin (the one she uses as a drum and we keep potatos in) and she's giggling. Not a normal child little girls giggle no this is a deep throaty heeeh eeh heeh like on of those idiots that sit on the couch on MTV - I don't know if she's laughing like Beavis or Butthead because I don't watch the show (and she's never seen it either) but she's sitting on the floor laughing at her reflection.

Thursday night Nick made THE most amazing dinner - pancetta wrapped chicken with camembert and rosemary potatos --- SO SO SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

Nick went to Maclean at 9:30am Friday morning for a pipeband competition. That morning I made him breakfast - something I've never done - Fried egg, bacon, coffee & juice.
Rin came round about 10-11ish - we went to the Brisbane convention centre warehouse clearence sale thing. Didn't buy anything much - I bought Nick a music book of Brahmes for the pian...

Nick has outdone himself again.

This time he made me my own easter egg. He couldn't find a Cherry Ripe Egg this year (as opposed to the milk chocolate eggs with cherry ripes (or chocettes) So he made his own
He bought a Cabury cherry ripe chocettes and milk chocolate egg pack - cut the egg in half, melted down the chocoettes and spread the mixture around the egg put the two halves back together wrapped it up again and put it in the freezer.
My very own cherry ripe egg.

Our next door neighbour has two cats. One a siamese like the ones in Lady & the Tramp and the other is a beautiful chocolate brown (but I don't knw the breed I've never really paid much attention)

Elana had been really quiet for the last 10 minutes or so - usually I know what she's doing by the sounds around her but I heard NO noise. So I went to investigate.

She heard me coming as she always does and came towards me dummy firmly planted in mouth (hence the silence) then she turned around ...

Elana is so independent now.

She walks.
She runs
She yells
She tries to hold conversations - mostly noise and babble but she can say UP (ut) and can can say YUM and she can hum twinkle twinkle little star and incy wincy spider.
She will run to lay down on her couch and wait for her bottle.
She will go down to her bedroom and get her bunny rug and dummy out of the cot
She will bring me her shoes and sit down the floor trying to put them one herself holding her foot in the air with her sh...

Elana has started doing this really odd thing, I think I've mentioned how she goes up to her bedroom and comes back with her dummy. If I haven't she has this habit of kinda stopping whatever it was she was doing like a light bulb has gone off in her head and she's like "oh someting missing" she stops what she's doing and runs up to her bedroom (or the hallway/playroom) and comes back with her dummy firmly planted in her mouth and goes back to whatever if was she was doing before.

I've menti...
