Hang in there.... At least if she wakes up in the middle of the night, you can elbow husband and say. "shes asking for you"

Joey - You'd think that wouldn't you unfortunately the only time she ever says anything that resembles Mum is said while crying

Waaaahw ma ma ma ma mum - and she doesn't wake up at night (much) and if wakes up before 1am she's mine and after 4 she's also mine

Rose - It's actually really funny - even Nick tries Hey Elana say Mummy and she'll say Dad to him too. I don't feel so bad because I get all her cuddles.

Cute story!!

I my case, my wife was frustrated that our youngest said "dada" before he said "mama". The ironic and frustrating part was, I was in Desert Storm at the time!! ;~D

"You crazy baby, where to you get off saying "dada" before "mama", he's not even here!!" ;~D

------------------------------

Isn't it ironic that the same parents who thrilled when their crumb-crunchers said their first words and took their first step, now just want you to sit down and shut up! ;~D

Ted - I feel for your wife - the poor woman

My baby sister (she's 17 now) had a t-shirt with that written on it "They couldn't wait till I started walking and talking and now all I hear is sit down and shutup"

unfortunately she out grew said shirt around the age of 3 and hasn't been silent since - she even talks in her sleep.

Heh heh. Babies for some reason, always, always say daddy before they say mommy. No matter what version of daddy it is, da, dada, dede whatever it's always them before us. My three did it, all my friends kids did it. It must be something from the sperm!

Aww...that's so cute! I think my first word was ball. Or at least that's what my mom says.

Heehee, so funny, you'd think 'mama' is easier to pronounce than 'Dada'... but obviously it aint, haha!

Hang in there trina, how about some hypnose? lol! I'm delirious now! haharr...

Dont feel too bad, i'm sure in her little heart when she says dada, she thinks mama

Well I said Mum first so it's not true all the time.

Do you remember that show Dinosaurs. Maybe Elana will start calling you "Not the the Dada".

Kenny that's not funny - I better make sure she doesn't get a hold of a frying pan (I LOVED Dinosaurs)

Good point, that baby was a psycho. Maybe you should buy a helmet just in case.

Yeah I loved that show too, I went through a real dinosaur phase and when Dinosaurs and Jurassic park came out within a year of each other I was in dino-nerd heaven entertainment wise.
